Early 2015 brought in my first solo show opportunity: I received a month-long slot at the De Facto Gallery at the Mulberry Street Coffeehouse. Since this was in the dead of winter, I collated a show based on the cold winter weather and frozen patterns that the winter months bring. Based on my deep love for winters spent up north at my family cottage, and the symbolism of frozen forms like trees and water, the paintings were created to invoke stillness and introspection.
